Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall) will host the 2nd Annual Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC) Economic Opportunity and Policy Forum from March 21–22, 2022 at the Washington Marriott Metro Center in downtown Washington, DC. The forum welcomes aviation industry leaders, government officials and business representatives to exchange ideas, share entrepreneurship best practices and seek innovation in diversity and inclusion initiatives throughout the aviation and aerospace industries.
This forum offers insights on airport economic opportunities, outlines AMAC’s federal legislative agenda and includes panel discussions with key Congressional and Administration leadership, plus Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) program updates. The participation of DBE/ACDBE Program stakeholders is critical to the forum’s success and AMAC’s advocacy efforts.
“AMAC is thrilled to welcome our members to our first in-person event since 2019! Since we last convened, the aviation industry no longer exists as we once knew it. However, amid chaos, there is also opportunity. AMAC is diligently working on behalf of our diverse membership to capitalize on economic opportunities that are flowing down the pipeline from national airport bids and jobs to the historic Bipartisan Infrastructure Law,” Eboni Wimbush, President & CEO, AMAC said.
Day one will focus on economic opportunities with airports and within the aviation industry. Day two will focus on AMAC’s legislative agenda, where attendees will have the opportunity to engage with lawmakers and regulators to discuss the importance of the DBE/ACDBE programs. “The forum will provide an opportunity and a dialogue to help encourage full opportunities for minorities across airports and aviation,” Ricky Smith, Executive Director/CEO, BWI Marshall and Chair, AMAC Board of Directors said. “AMAC is providing important leadership to help foster and grow these principles. We look forward to sharing information and insights with stakeholders from around the country.”
