Description of the Project:
Located in Maryland just outside Washington, DC, the Project is a 16.2-mile light rail transit line that extends from Bethesda in Montgomery County to New Carrollton in Prince George’s County. Connecting major activity centers of this corridor located inside the heavily congested Capital Beltway, it will provide direct connections to four branches of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (“WMATA”) Metrorail system (both branches of the Red Line at Bethesda and Silver Spring, the Green Line at College Park, and the Orange Line at New Carrollton), as well as all three Maryland Area Regional Commuter (“MARC”) rail lines and Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor at New Carrollton. In conjunction with the light rail line, 21 new train stations will be constructed.
Opportunities:
The heavy civil scope of work for this project includes, but is not limited to: clearing and grubbing, site demolition, dewatering, shoring/SOE, soldier piles, micro-piles, retaining walls, rebar, concrete, precast concrete, structural steel, SIP form and shear stud, bearings, deck waterproofing, bridge drainage, trackwork, site utilities and drainage, asphalt pavement, milling, fencing, guiderail, curb and sidewalk, line striping, signage, electrical ITS and lighting systems, traction power and train control systems, cathodic protection, retaining walls, trucking, landscaping, MPT, and other trades typically associated with this type of work.
The station scope of work scope for this project includes, but is not limited to: clearing and grubbing, site demolition, shoring/SOE, soldier piles, tie-backs, MSE walls, rebar, concrete, precast concrete stairs, masonry, structural steel, miscellaneous metals, ornamental ironwork (metal railings, etc.), glass curtainwall, stainless steel & glass platform canopies/windscreens, metal wall panels, rubber & metal roofing, carpentry, acoustical wall & ceiling panels, doors, painting, typical station furniture amenities (lean rail, benches, trash receptacles, etc.), tactile edging, rub rail, elevators & escalators, fire sprinkler, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems, and other trades typically associated with this type of work.
