American entrepreneurial legend Herman J. Russell is profiled and memorialized in the ATL-PBA documentary called Building Atlanta: The Herman J. Russell Story. The program features interviews with other Atlanta-based legends such as lawyer Vernon Jordan, Ambassador Andrew Young, former Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin and Holder Construction Founder Robert Holder.
The program shares stories of Russell’s childhood, entrepreneurial development, support of the civil rights movement and his business philosophy. The program first aired on Sunday, February 16, 2020 on the Atlanta public broadcasting station ATL-PBA and re-airs on Sunday, February 23, 2020.
